The Charcoal's Story
Charcoal's Gourmet Burger Bar was founded in 2013 by Blaine Prestenbach and Craig Walker Jr. Our goal is to offer a premium quality burger with a wide variety of unique and exceptional toppings. Patrons can choose from one of our ten burger options including a house blend, Kobe beef, shrimp, salmon, turkey, or one of our exotic blends including elk, bison, venison or antelope. All meats are ground in house daily in our state of the art grind room. We also offer a veggie burger option which features a classic New Orleans blend of red beans and brown rice.

We strive to produce all menu items from scratch and fresh daily. The only freezer we have in house is to store our local made ice cream. From a build your own burger option to our Chef's Recommendation, we are sure to have a burger to suit every taste.

Our building has two floors and this concept was created to offer a fast counter seated service downstairs or the option to have a hosted seating dinner upstairs with a full bar. The beer selection was influenced by local brewmasters with a state of the art beer system that dispenses every beer at an optimum 32 degrees. Upstairs we have a full bar with a selection of 20 wines and a list of speciality cocktails named after our employees valued dogs.

The name Charcoal's was selected in honor of Blaine's dog, a 13 yr old black Labrador retriever who has been a part of our friendship from the beginning. So come and enjoy the best burger in the city at 2200 Magazine Street and be a part of the Charcoal's family!
